If they are really willing to play, and play properly according to the rules of the game, they should be thanked and congratulated.

For Islamics to do such a thing is a terrific if only tiny step forward in a march of progress, and relations between Islamics and other peoples, and gays also.

I'd have respected them a lot more if they'd actually stuck to their beliefs and not done a u-turn. Shows how hypocritical they are, with regard to their religion. Seems as though, as is with many religions, they can ignore the rules when it suits them.

I blogged about this on Saturday and have done again given the welcome u-turn. Creteil Bebel should be given a formal warning but kicking them out of the league will not serve any useful purpose in my opinion.

Simon Murphy, exactly. The problem with these people is when they migrate to the west, they bring their religious cult beliefs with them and try to impose them on the rest of society. That's the reason why we don't get same-sex marriage in the UK because the state religion and their sister roman cult get the last word on it, in other words, imposing their beliefs which trump ours just because we're a minority. Muslims wonder why there is so much villification of them is precisely because of their imposition of religious beliefs on others and their disgusting treatment of women. If they can't conform with western ways and laws, then let them go back, nobody is forcing them to stay.

I too am for prosecuting religious cults and getting freebies at OUR expense in the form of tax-exemptions. Nobody should be above the law in a true democracy, not even the monarch. They should all go out and find real jobs instead of living like parasites or forfeit their right to meddle in political matters and legislation affecting LGBT taxpaying voters. Why should tax payers pay for a chosen lifestyle? Nobody comes into this world religious so why should we support them financially through our tax pounds while they get to deny us our rights?

Can anyone name me any mainstream muslim organisation or group in either Britain or France that is not homophobic?

Despite its claims to be a religion of peace it seems that islam is a religion of homophobia. Moreso even than catholicism where the bigotry of the leadership is no so readily adopted by the members. This story is a case in point.

I am 100% against religion being protected from discrimination. Religion deserves only the same protections as it is willing to offer other minority groups. If a muslim group promotes homophobia like the ignorant pigs of this muslim football team then they automatically lose the right to complain about their own treatment.

Maybe it's because the have the word "foot" in their name……. It's a dirty word to Muslims……

And the acronym PFG is almost like PIG….

Well, of course it highlights the homosexuality of its players. I imagine that is the point of the team existing. To promote being gay in sport. I expect its why the other team is all muslim, to promote being muslim in sport. If its ok to be an all muslim team, then its equally ok to be an all homosexual team!

But how long have the two teams been in the same amateur league? Did the muslim lot not know they were gay before? It's all a farce.

Don't quite get the misunderstanding either 'The name of the club did not seem to us to reflect our vision of the sport' ??

I suspect they suddenly realised they could be thrown out of the league, concocted as positive a piece a piece of face saving as they could, agreed to play and will no doubt think carefully about doing anything so silly again.

Another small step forward!
